Anyone can make a corporate video production, but that doesn’t mean it’ll be a good one!
Welcome to our series about finding the S.T.U.F.F. (trademark pending) in your corporate video production. Simply put, in order to keep your audience engaged, your marketing video must have the S.T.U.F.F.! For a story to be memorable, it needs one or more of these elements: Sexy, Touching, Unique/Unexpected, Funny & Fear.
In Part 1 of our series, we’re going to explore the “Sexy” element – the most widely used in consumer products.
Now, it’s important to state that in the world of high end marketing videos, sexy doesn’t necessarily mean physical, human attraction. To us, a product or idea can exude sexiness beyond belief.
Remember the iPhone 6 debut? Who would have thought a piece of metal could be so attractive? Its simple, yet elegant, advertising campaign displayed the product to utter perfection.
While incorporating the “Sexy” may not seem feasible in corporate video productions, we strongly disagree. Ask yourself the following:
What is it about my product or service that sizzles? What makes it pop? What sets it apart from your boring competitors?
By answering that question honestly and openly in our creative brief, we figure out that special “It” factor that causes your targeted demographic to go from WANTING your product/service to NEEDING it. And that most certainly is sexy.
A great reference point of a “sexy” corporate video production we created is a high end motion graphics video for our client LexisNexis. They’re an organization that provides content-enabled workflow solutions in the corporate, legal and academic markets. Just screams sexy right? We didn’t think so either in the beginning – until we immersed ourselves in the history of the company and the amazing solutions they provide to the world.
We decided the best way to showcase their history and current product line was a sleek, futuristic, 3D motion graphic video. The end result was a gorgeous video used in multiple marketing facets – not only is it displayed on their website, the images pulled from the video were also used as graphic elements all over their trade show booths.
