Finding the S.T.U.F.F. In Your Corporate Video Production Series – Part 2 – Touching

Corporate Video Production Imagine LA

Anyone can make a corporate video production, but that doesn’t mean it’ll be a good one!

Welcome to our series about finding the emotional heart, we call it the S.T.U.F.F. (trademark pending) in your corporate video production. Simply put, in order to keep your audience engaged, your marketing video must have the S.T.U.F.F. For a story to be memorable, it needs to have emotion and build empathy….we focus on one or more of these empathy attracting elements: Sexy, Touching, Unique/Unexpected, Funny & Fear.

In this installment, we’re going to discuss how the “Touching” emotion in your marketing video will help your story. Let’s take a deeper look at what type of impact the “Touching” element can have when incorporated correctly.

Think back to the ASPCA infomercials with the Sarah McLachlan song playing in the background. It’s fairly impossible not to tear up at the images of shelter animals locked in cages. In fact, can you think of any other reference point when you hear the vocals “In the arms of an angel?” What was created was an incredibly successful advertising campaign that helped animals all over the country, by popularizing adopting instead of shopping for your furry family member.

When used appropriately, the “Touching” element has an immense psychological effect connecting the viewer to your product or service. It encourages the viewer to take action, building trust in your brand and strengthening the relationship between you and your targeted demographic.

One of our favorite corporate video productions was for a non-profit organization, Imagine LA. They help homeless families in Los Angeles restart their lives through training and mentorship. When Imagine LA approached us to produce a video which would be showcased at their annual fundraiser, we knew we had to go above and beyond for such an amazing cause.

Instead of having a ” talking head ” video, we decided to propose a new and innovative approach to help a family tell their story on camera. Creating a set where mentors and mentees depicted their heartwarming stories through art, their inspiring experiences came alive through the canvasses they drew on – with a little help from our animators, of course. We were honored to find out that this video resulted in raising more money in a single night at their fundraising event than ever before.
