Often times, here at Rip Media Group we’re asked how we put together a great video production. So here’s a blog using LexisNexis as a case study to give you an idea about what goes on behind the scenes.
First off, here’s a little bit about LexisNexis: Combining cutting-edge technology, unique data and advanced scoring analytics, LexisNexis provides products and services that address evolving client needs in the risk sector while upholding the highest standards of security and privacy.
LexisNexis commissioned RMG to produce a 2D animated video to promote LexisNexis Risk Solutions, which provides essential information that helps customers across industries and government predict, assess and manage risk.

So what did we do? We went to town! After learning exactly what LexisNexis’ needs were, we created a script that addressed everything they wanted to say in a way that first-time customers/viewers would find both easy to understand and compelling.
Next, we leaned on our Art/Animation department to come up with engaging images that helped convey the script. While one of our artists designed the artwork that defined the victims and criminals that were involved, another artist created animations that filled the screen in between those shots.
As we were doing this, we tasked a top VO to give us a perfect read – which he did! – and our music department searched hard for the perfect tracks that would give the energy to the finished piece.
All along the way, we worked with the client- giving them approval throughout the entire process. That way there was no unpleasant surprises.
Once all of these interlocking elements were complete, it was time to put them together in the edit bay. When we’re in the edit bay, we also add sound effects and mix the entire piece so it’s easy to hear: no one wants the all important voice over to be dominated by music or sound effects.
Then it’s time to show the video to the client, make any last minute tweaks, and voila. The video production is wrapped and it’s delivered to the client.
This is how it all happens – but it all starts with a call. Your call. So contact us so we can give you a full consultation and start working on the video production you need to take your business to a whole new level!
